AC Hotel Houston Downtown

Owner: Newcrestimage LLC | Architect: MCS Architects LLC

This multi-award winning hotel for historic restoration is an adaptive reuse of the 110-year-old Jesse Jones’ Gulf Oil Building into a 195-guest-room hotel. As a Houston Historic Landmark, this is one of the first 1960s mid-century modern style buildings to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the building went through a major renovation in the 1960s. Developed by NewcrestImage and designed by MCS Architects LLC, the hotel décor is European-style and includes a large workout room, laundry facilities, a kitchen, restaurant and fully renovated ballroom. The Zoe theater built in 1914 is now the Zoe Ballroom which retained its classic barrel vaulted ceiling, accomodating 350 people.
